Aishwarya Rai's film was bought by Amazon Prime for Rs 125 crore, Ponniyin Selvan will be released on the big screen on this day
Aishwarya Rai's much-awaited Tamil epic historical film 'Ponniyin Selvan' is all set to hit the big screens in September this year.
However, later the film will also be shown on the digital platform. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital rights of the film.
A huge amount has been paid for this. Amazon Prime has bagged the streaming rights for Part 1 and Part 2 of the action-adventure 'Ponniyin Selvan' for a record ₹125 crore. In this way the rights of the film have been sold at a record price.
National Film Award winning filmmaker Mani Ratnam's much-awaited film Ponniyin Selvan is based on writer-activist Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel of the same name.
The film will tell the fictional story of one of the great Indian kings, Raja Raja Chola.
The makers of the 10th century film have unveiled the first look poster of the long-awaited film along with revealing the release date.
Which looks very impressive and after watching it, the desperation about the film among the audience has increased even more.
Ponniyin Selvan will be released in two parts, the first part is ready to hit the theaters on 30 September 2022.
