The University of Mysore has conferred an honorary doctorate on the superstar, who has earned a special place in the minds of fans. ‘We discussed with their families the matter of awarding an honorary doctorate to Puneet. Puneet’s wife Ashwini has agreed to attend the graduation ceremony, ”Mysore University Vice-Chancellor Professor Hemant Kumar said on Sunday.
Similarly, the University of Mysore conferred an honorary doctorate on Dr. Kanthirava Dr. Rajkumar, father of Puneet, in February 1976. The 102nd graduation ceremony of Mysore University will be held on the 22nd of this month. Along with Puneet, eminent scientist Dr VS Atra and folk artist Malavalli Mahadevaswamy will also be awarded honorary doctorates at the event. There have been several films on the line since Puneet’s death.
